This Action Lab recognises that addressing nutritional challenges requires not only innovation and entrepreneurship but also robust policy design and institutional support. In India, where two-thirds of cultivated land is rainfed and highly vulnerable to climate change, a systems approach to food production and consumption is essential.
AL 6 drives change through inclusive deliberations —f ocusing on decentralised decision-making with primary stakeholders such as SHGs, women farmers, small producers, street vendors, and rural enterprises. It emphasises reducing trade-offs in policy, and developing working papers, briefs, and position papers to guide reform.
By connecting insights across all other Action Labs, the policy and institutions lab provides the enabling ecosystem for food systems transformation in India.
